This is the end of Series 4, which has explored the hairy topic of personal grooming.
I’ve read the most about hygiene and being hygienic as reason for hair removal and I’d like to dispel that.
According to @mayoclinic there is no medical or hygienic reason to remove hair and it can lead to: itching, burns, abrasions or cuts, stubble, rash, bumps, ingrown hairs, bacterial infections, increased risk of transmitting or contracting some viral infections, and contact dermatitis!
The hair can, however, retain body oil, sweat, and odors, but those things are also present on your head
and just as easily remedied with regular bathing.
In conclusion, if you’re gonna do it, do it because you love it, it makes you feel comfortable with yourself, and not for the hygiene myth.
