The skin that surrounds and protects the clitoris is called the clitoral hood. Like labia, they vary in size, shape and color.
The hood should retract easily, like a man’s foreskin. If it doesn’t, it might need some extra care. Talk to your doctor if there is pain or discomfort upon “lifting the hood.”
