One of my favorite parts about making this art is how women have gravitated towards it and propelled it forward. Celebrating, glorifying, recognizing beauty in others when we can have so much trouble seeing it in ourselves.
A year ago I opened up the model submission form on my website and received an outpouring of support and images for my art. Life, work, and resistance has slowed my progress but I am working through them all! I have 24 more pieces to share with you to honor each of the people who took the time to submit their images to me. (If you have been waiting- thank you a million times 🥹❤ – and it won’t be much longer!)

When baked, a lot of the detail was lost on this one. It happens sometimes and it’s always disappointing, but I don’t consider it a defeat. The purpose in the art was the creating of it and the model participating and letting the media behave in the way real pie dough behaves. These pies are edible and made from scratch with the same ingredients that I would make a dessert pie and pie crust does what it wants!
